I have done my best - My poem for English Literature homework

I have done my best

"Your grades are atrocious,
Did you study at all?"
A voice keeps ringing in my head.
Like fire brought to ice,
ice will melt...
Despair stains my cheeks.
My heart aches,
My soul burns.

"I have done my best!"
I scream inside.
"Wha, your grades suck
Like Hell, man!"
Another haunting voice
Enters my mind.

Another stream flows
Down my cheeks
Onto a mark.
"Nine out of twenty,"
It read.

"I did do my best...."

What do minna-san think about it? It's my first hand at poetry. I thought that it was really short and needed more elaboration. However, we are only limited to 20 lines for the poem.

I really want to know what minna-san think of my poem. So, all comments are welcome.
